The skywalk, the first facility of its kind in the city and the state, was undertaken by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) at an estimated cost of 25 crore.

In addition to connecting with the Metro Rail station at the concourse level on both sides, it connects six locations in the vicinity of the junction. At each of the six hop stations in the 660-meter-long pedestrian  facility, there are stairs and elevators.

After the launch, Mr. Rama Rao spoke at a public gathering on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government's accomplishments over the previous nine years in various sectors and the contribution of the Uppal constituency to the progress.
