Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial: A INR 179-crore project about to become the world’s largest seamless stainless steel structure IN Hyderabad

The polished and puffed exterior may evoke similarities to the ‘Cloud Gate’ or the Chicago ‘Bean’ and ‘The Bubble’ in the western Chinese city of Karamay

A massive egg-shaped mirror-finished structure in Hyderabad with a giant reddish-yellow flame atop is all set to symbol the essence of decades-long struggles that led to the creation of India’s youngest state. Touted as an upcoming major tourist attraction beside the historic Tank bund  lake, the new Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial — a INR 179 crore project that’s soon to be unveiled to the public — is deemed the world’s largest seamless stainless steel steel similarities to the ‘Cloud Gate’ or the Chicago ‘Bean’ and ‘The Bubble’ in the western Chinese city of Karamay.

But this, the makers say, is a lit traditional earthen oil lamp conceived as a tribute to the martyrs of separate statehood agitation that culminated in today’s Telangana. Only that at a height of 161 feet and width of 158 feet, this is five to six times bigger than ‘Cloud Gate’. This biggest martyr's memorial in Telangana.

Claimed to be the biggest seamless stainless steel structure in the world, which has been fabricated in Dubai, the outer bean shape has made of special 316 L type of stainless steel, a type of anti-rust, high corrosion and temperature-resisting steel. Around 100 ton of 316 L steel and 12,00 ton of stainless steel it have been used overall.



Its designer and project supervisor, M.V. Ramana Reddy said the design was inspired by an illuminated clay lamp and resembles Cloud Gate in  And it will open on Feb 17
